It wasn't terribly dramatic. His face changed slightly, his breathing quickened, and his eyelids twitched. That was all it took, a silvery ear hearing his near-silent cry, and in a moment he had sweet, soft fur rousing him from his slumber. He sighed and smiled before he even opened his eyes, and leaned his head into her knuckle. Part of him was laughing at how silly it seemed so immediately, the dream that had just threatened steely jaws over his nervous system and mind, now a dissolving deflated puddle, just as a dream should be. It was something ridiculous. Not scary at all, in a few minutes he'd be able to recount a few amusing details to her, but right now he was quiet, enjoying her softness and presence.
