Arketh & Fever were originally the same character. I don't remember what his original name was at this point, but Protoarketh was originally a much more cruel and obsessive character. Originally, Helieths ex partner was a huge, powerful, obsessive, sadistic dragonfolk. I was struggling with him as a character though, for a couple of reasons. One of the biggest ones was that he was too powerful. If Fever had Arkeths strengths & capabilities, as well as his closeness to Helieth, it was too difficult to keep him from just devouring Helieth and leaving no crumbs. Also, though, if Arketh had Fevers sadism and cruelty, Helieth would have been more put off by him. It made a lot of sense for the character to be split into two, and I'm much happier with it like this. Fever gets to be as horrible as he wants, Helieth gets to be disgusted by and hate him, Arketh gets to chill out and be way more likeable and rounded out (especially as one of the top elites for Blackwing) and I get to enjoy dragging out the story for much longer cuz these three are much more evenly balanced this way ^w^! Before, Protoarketh was sort of constantly pursuing but quite Slow... Arketh stays too slow to pursue Helieth, but he knows this and doesn't Try. Fever is also Not able to pursue Helieth as well as Arketh / Protoarketh, not only because he's also slowed down significantly by not having wings, but also because he just can't track him as well without a soul bond. Protoarkeths obsession becomes Arkeths devotion. Fever stays obsessed.
